We recommend that sailors progress through our programs to build their skills gradually.
JUNIOR SAILING
The Royal offers several programs in Junior Sailing, from Wet Feet (ages 5 to 7) and Learn to Sail (at least 7 years old), to Advanced Single Handed and Advanced Double Handed courses, which lead to Sail Canada certifications. Children who have completed an advanced course can opt to go on to our race team program.
Water safety is an essential component of our courses. To sign up, children must be able to swim and get back into a boat from the water.
The Royal’s Junior Sailing program emphasizes good sportsmanship and striving to do your best. We encourage your children to keep fit, respect each other and be responsible, all the while building confidence in themselves. Our sailors often develop life-long friendships with their fellow sailors.
