The Royal St. Lawrence Yacht Club received its Royal designation from Queen Victoria in 1894.

WHO WE ARE

Founded in 1888 by a group of Montreal business people as the St. Lawrence Yacht Club, the Club received its Royal designation in 1894 from its first Patron, Queen Victoria. Prince Philip extended his royal patronage to the Club in 1954. To this day, we honour our storied past with events like Commissioning Day and Sail Past.

The Club’s mission is to develop and foster the sport of sailing, the love of boating, and to provide quality recreational and educational facilities for members, their guests, and the community. We value mutual respect, excellence, innovation, education, and sportsmanship, and have a long-standing tradition of volunteerism.

The Club is steered by its Management Committee, which includes the Flag Officers and the Honorary Treasurer and Secretary, and by its Executive Committee and sub-committees, all of whom are volunteers. Our dedicated managers and staff keep the Club running smoothly.
